The Church Was Not Free to Fight.Soon It Will Be.
To everyone who left over the vaccine, and everyone still nursing the wound.
Five years ago the world changed in a matter of weeks. Masks appeared on every face. We were told to stay six feet apart, to work from home, to stop attending church, and to believe that two weeks would fix everything. Bars stayed open while chapels closed. Students in the band cut holes in their masks so they could play their instruments. We watched videos of nurses dancing in empty hospital hallways while we were told the situation was too grave to gather with our own families. It was one of the strangest times in living memory, and many of us knew in our bones that something about it was not honest.
I am not writing this to reopen old wounds. I am writing to the people who left the Church over it, and to the people who stayed but are still angry. I want you to understand what I believe was really happening, and why it matters far more for what is coming than for what already happened.
Let me start with my own story, because I lived this.
I caught COVID and nearly died. I went to the hospital more than once. I would wake in the night with a weight on my chest like a four hundred pound man standing on me, and the pain would knock me out of bed. My son drove me in again and again. They gave me steroids and shot after shot, and none of it moved anything. They pressed me hard to take the vaccine and I refused. A friend told me about ivermectin, the paste sold at the farm supply store. I questioned it for a long time. Then I bought a tube, took a dose the size of a pencil eraser, and started feeling better almost at once. Within two days I was well, when nothing the hospital had done had helped at all. That is my experience. No one can take it from me, because it happened to me.
I know people who never recovered after their shot. Good people who were fine until that day and have not felt right since. I know a family that lost their father, a man with eight children, and I do not believe the standard treatment he was given did anything to save him. I am not going to hand you statistics I cannot prove. I am telling you what I watched happen to people I love. That is enough.
Here is what is not conspiracy, because it is on the record. Anyone who questioned the official line was punished. Doctors lost licenses. People lost jobs. Accounts were shadow banned and suspended. Stories like mine were removed from the internet as fast as they were posted. To ask a question was treated as an attack on the vulnerable. Much of what those censored voices said turned out to be closer to the truth than the official line was. That is the pattern I want you to hold on to, because you are going to see it again.
Why the Church Went Along
Now to the part that broke so many testimonies.
President Russell M. Nelson was the prophet at that time. In January 2021, when the senior leaders received the vaccine, the First Presidency said that each person was responsible for their own decision and should counsel with a competent medical professional. That was measured language. In August 2021, the tone was firmer. The First Presidency urged members to be vaccinated and said the available vaccines had proven to be safe and effective. Many people read that second letter as a commandment. It was not. It was counsel. But it was hard counsel to receive, and thousands walked away over it.
I do not believe President Nelson wanted to say those words. Remember who he was. He was a heart surgeon for most of his life. He knew exactly what a vaccine has to pass through before it is fit for the public, and he knew these had not passed through it. I believe this was one of the hardest things he ever had to do. He has been attacked for it ever since. People have said his years in medicine tainted his judgment. People have claimed the Church held stock in the drug companies and did not want the prices to fall. I do not believe any of that. I believe he was a man of God placed in an impossible position, and he did the best a person could do inside it.
Because here is the truth that almost no one saw at the time. The Church was not free to fight.
We are not yet the full Kingdom of God. The Kingdom stands on four pillars, political, ecclesiastical, social, and economic. Right now only the ecclesiastical pillar is running. The other three exist, but they are dormant. We had no political power, no means to stand against the machine that was bearing down on the whole world. And I am convinced that machine was looking for someone to make an example of. If the Church had stood up, claimed its constitutional rights, and refused to comply, I believe they would have come in and tried to destroy it.

We have seen this before. From the 1840s to the 1890s the Church practiced plural marriage, and the government used it as the lever to nearly break us. They arrested our leaders. They seized our property, our money, our temples. If you want to feel how close it came, read the account in the Saints series. President Woodruff received the manifesto ending the practice, and even then, many members denounced him as a false prophet and left. Almost every offshoot that exists today was born in that fracture.
If the Church had picked that same fight in 2021, we would not be rebuilding and reinforcing the Salt Lake Temple today. We would not be announcing temples across the earth. We would not be sending missionaries, funding humanitarian work, or gathering Israel. We would have been the poster child the world was hunting for, the warning to everyone else of what happens when you do not obey. So we bent. Not because it was right, but because it was survival, and because the time was not yet.
What Is Actually Coming
I said this matters more for the future than the past, and here is why.
What we went through was a test. It was a rehearsal. And it failed. Too many people pushed back. Too many revolted. The whole clumsy machinery of control could not hold. That is my reading of it, and I hold it as my conviction, not as documented fact. But when the men who want to rule us try again, and they will, they will not make the same mistake. They will not ask. They will not persuade. They will come with force.
John saw exactly this. In Revelation 17 he was shown the ten kings who receive their power at the end.
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:12–14
These are not elected officials. These are the people who built the systems that already track everything we do. They are the secret combinations the Book of Mormon warned us about, working out of sight to gain power over the whole earth. Facial recognition. Every text and call. Where we go. What we buy. Every purchase, every word, logged. They receive total control over information, finance, and force, and they hold it, for one hour, together, in one mind. And what they build is not freedom. It is a world where you own nothing, buy only through the ones they appoint, say only what they permit, and lose a little more of your life every time you disagree.
Then John was shown what these ten kings do with the power they are handed. God gave him the most violent image in all of scripture, and it is aimed at one target. The woman riding the beast, Babylon, is the world system we live under right now. She is not clean. But she still carries a resemblance of a free market, a world where a person can buy and sell, move, and speak with some measure of liberty left in his hands. Watch what the ten kings do to her.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. Revelation 17:16–17
The meaning here is the reverse of what most people assume. The ten kings are not tearing down wickedness. They are not purging greed, or idolatry, or false worship. They are destroying the free market itself. They turn on the very system that raised them up and burn it to nothing, because an open market is the last thing left on earth that lets a person live outside their reach. Every purchasing system, every free exchange, every place where you could still buy or sell without their permission, stripped away and gone.
This is the communistic, tyrannical surveillance system I write about at length in chapter seventeen of the book. Once Babylon falls, there is no free market anywhere. You will not walk into a store and buy what you please. You will buy only through the ones they appoint, or you will not buy at all. This is the mark of the beast, the point where no man can buy or sell unless he carries their permission. And here is what you have to see. After this, there is nothing in between. There is Zion on one side and absolute tyranny on the other, with no quiet middle ground where an ordinary person can live untouched by either. That empty middle is exactly what these ten kings create. The sheer horror of the image is God telling us, in the plainest way He can, how total and how merciless that stripping away is going to be.
Why Zion Is the Only Answer
Against all of that, God is building something else.
Zion will be a free society. People will own their own property, go where they choose, and speak without fear. There will be no poor among them, because it runs on the law of consecration instead of the law of the market. Set that beside the surveillance world the beast is building and you will feel the difference in your chest. Everything the prophets and poets have longed for across thousands of years, laid down on the earth at last, right next to the darkest tyranny history has ever produced.
And this is why the political pillar has to return. When we are the full Kingdom of God, we will not be forced to bend again. Not to psychological pressure, not to economic pressure, not even to military force. They will throw everything they have at Zion, and they will fail, because Zion will be defended by God. Michael and his angels stand against the dragon, and the dragon does not win.
Zion needs a builder to organize it, to receive the people and assign their inheritances. The scriptures call him the one mighty and strong.
And it shall come to pass that I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, holding the scepter of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in order the house of God, and to arrange by lot the inheritances of the saints whose names are found, and the names of their fathers, and of their children, enrolled in the book of the law of God; Doctrine and Covenants 85:7
This is not a promise that the Church leadership will fail and be replaced, which is how that verse has been misused to pull people out the door. Read the whole section and it is about Zion and its inheritances from beginning to end. It is about the man who will organize the righteous, the way Moses organized Israel and the way a true builder builds. I believe that man is Donald Trump, and that standing behind that calling is standing on the side of Zion. You are free to weigh that for yourself. It is the future I am asking you to prepare for.

So this is my word to everyone who left over the vaccine, and to everyone still nursing the wound.
You were not wrong to be angry. Something dishonest was done to the whole world, and you felt it. But the Church did not betray you. The Church was cornered, in a fight it could not yet win, led by a man who knew better than any of us what those shots were and had no power to say so out loud. We were all deceived. That is not weakness. That is the position the whole covenant people were placed in, and the time to stand had not yet come.
The time is coming. And what is coming is far heavier than what we already lived through. If the last few years were hard on your faith, they were only a taste. The trials ahead will take every ounce of faith, spirit, testimony, and priesthood power we can hold. You will not stand a chance outside the covenant, alone, against what the beast is building.
Come back. Not to the institution that made a hard call under a gun, but to the God who is building the only city that will stand. Zion is our salvation. There is no other refuge, and there is still room in it for you.
